WHAT IS THEATRESPORTS?
IMPROV • COMEDY • QUICK THINKING • TEAMWORK
There's no script to hide behind in Theatresports.
You're given a challenge, a suggestion or a completely ridiculous situation — and you have seconds to decide what happens next.
Students learn the fundamentals of improvisation through games and challenges before putting their skills to the test in team-based Theatresports matches.
They'll learn how to:
- Say “yes” to an idea and build on it
- Create characters instantly
- Develop scenes without a script
- Listen and react in the moment
- Think quickly when plans change
- Take creative risks
- Work as part of an ensemble
- Recover when something doesn't go to plan
And most importantly?
STOP OVERTHINKING AND HAVE A GO.
TWO DAYS. LOADS OF CHALLENGES. ONE EPIC SHOWDOWN.
DAY 1 — LEARN THE GAME
THINK FAST • TAKE RISKS • BUILD THE SCENE
We start with the foundations of great improv.
Through fast-paced games and challenges, students learn how to accept ideas, create strong characters, establish scenes and keep the action moving.
Expect ridiculous situations, unexpected characters and plenty of moments nobody could possibly have planned.
As the day progresses, we'll introduce classic Theatresports-style games and start building teams ready for Day 2.
DAY 1 MISSION: Stop planning the perfect answer. Trust your instincts and jump in.
Skills they'll take back to school:
Confidence • Reading aloud • Clear speaking • Teamwork • Creativity
CREATE IT • REHEARSE IT • BRING IT TO LIFE
DAY 2 — GAME ON!
CREATE • COMPETE • PERFORM
Now it's time to put those improv skills under pressure.
Teams take on increasingly challenging games where scenes, characters and stories have to be created right there, right then.
No scripts.
No rehearsed answers.
No knowing what's coming next.
The programme builds towards a Theatresports showdown, with teams performing, supporting each other and battling it out through a series of hilarious improv challenges.
DAY 2 MISSION: Back your team. Back yourself. And be ready for absolutely anything.
Not a Drama Kid?
GOOD. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE.
Theatresports isn't about being the best actor in the room.
Some students love performing. Others are funny, imaginative, observant or brilliant at coming up with unexpected ideas.
Some arrive confident.
Others would rather disappear than perform alone on a stage.
There's room for all of them.
Theatresports is built around teams, games and shared scenes, so nobody has to carry the performance alone.
You don't need experience. You just need to be willing to have a go.
ALREADY CONFIDENT ON STAGE?
Bring it.
Experienced performers are challenged to make stronger choices, create more believable characters, develop scenes further and — importantly — learn that great improv isn't about stealing the spotlight.
The best improvisers make everyone around them better.
Our Parent Promise
Everyone Gets In The Game
No sitting on the sidelines. Everyone gets involved in improv games, scenes, characters and team challenges.
Quieter Kids Are Welcome
They don't have to be loud, funny or confident to join in. Team games make it easier to have a go without all the pressure.
Confident Performers Are Challenged
Already loves the spotlight? We'll challenge them with faster games, bigger characters and trickier improv situations.
No Script. No Prep. Just Go!
No lines to memorise. Students learn to trust their ideas, think on their feet and jump into whatever comes next.
Real Coaching & Feedback
Our coaches help students build stronger scenes, characters, teamwork and confidence while keeping the energy high.
It's Safe To Get It Wrong
Improv isn't about being perfect. Students are encouraged to take creative risks, support each other and keep going when things go wrong.
