Speech and Drama Classes at Kristin School
Ten Feet Tall has been teaching at Kristin School for 6 years and we are passionate about offering a quality itinerant service to our students and their families. Our classes at Kristin School are only for Kristin Students.
Students join us weekly from Year 1-13, for 30 minute classes, from 8am to 4.30pm daily. We offer group classes, shared and private classes. We know what times suit students in the different levels with break times reserved for our Middle and Senior Students.
All students from Year 2-13, work towards an end of year assessment as a part of the programme. Students are so pleased to receive their Speech NZ badge and certificate at the end of the year.
We believe that the more our students perform to different audiences the more opportunity they have to grow their confidence. We want them to love an audience and creating opportunities to perform is a key part of our approach.

Why Speech and Drama Classes?
Speaking to an audience, no matter the size, is a part of modern life at school and university. Strong communication, public speaking and performance skills are vital to our children’s career success. When students have an opportunity to develop these skills from an early age; their confidence grows. We offer small group, individualised learning programmes – our programmes are filled with a range of texts, and important skills that they will use over their lifetime. It does not matter if your student is shy, confident, drama mad or somewhere in between -our fun classes focus on developing the individual. We regularly work with students who have a range of learning challenges including reluctant readers. Our teachers are warm, friendly and take a strength based approach to coaching. All students work towards an end of year assessment as well as end of term performances. They are so pleased when they receive their badge and certificate.
Extempore Speaking -Public Speaking
Junior and Middle School is an important time to start developing public speaking skills – our programme includes these important skills: speaking extempore on any topic, developing visuals and slides for presentations, interview skills, a welcome and thank you speech, impromptu speaking. We also offer pair and private classes for students who want smaller group options. Many of our senior students can not attend during the term but come to see us during the holidays.
