Confidence Club for Children & Teens in Auckland
Building confident kids through speaking, performing and communication.
Confidence isn't something children either have or don't have. It grows through experience — having a go, learning new skills and discovering “I can do this.”
Ten Feet Tall Confidence Club gives students a fun, supportive place to speak, perform, share ideas and challenge themselves. Whether your child needs the confidence to put their hand up, speak in front of their class, make new friends or step into leadership, Confidence Club gives them a safe place to practise being heard.
Through Speech & Drama, Public Speaking and practical communication activities, every student participates, every student speaks and every student has the opportunity to grow.
Years 1–10 | Weekly classes across Auckland
What will mt child learn?
Confidence Club develops communication step by step — beginning with the confidence to have a go, then building stronger speaking and performance skills, and progressing towards confident, purposeful communication and leadership.
Foundations | Years 1–3
Brave beginnings.
For our youngest students, communication starts with speaking, imagining, playing and performing. Classes are active and encouraging, giving every child plenty of opportunities to have a go.
Students develop:
- Speaking & Voice — speaking clearly and audibly in front of others
- Storytelling & Imagination — creating and sharing stories, ideas and characters
- Role Play & Performance — using voice, movement and expression to explore different roles
- Beginning Public Speaking — sharing ideas and creating simple speeches
- Expression & Body Language — learning how voice, face and movement help communicate meaning
- Listening & Teamwork — listening, taking turns, responding and creating with others
- Confidence to Participate — becoming increasingly comfortable contributing, speaking and performing
The focus is on making communication fun, active and achievable.
Speak & Perform | Years 4–6
Finding your voice.
As students grow, the focus shifts from simply having a go to learning how to communicate ideas clearly, creatively and confidently.
Students develop:
- Public Speaking & Presentation — organising ideas and presenting them clearly to an audience
- Voice & Delivery — using pace, projection, emphasis, expression and body language effectively
- Speech Structure — developing a clear beginning, middle and end and learning how to shape ideas for an audience
- Storytelling & Performance — using character, imagination and expression to engage others
- Impromptu Speaking — thinking quickly and speaking with less preparation
- Ideas & Opinions — expressing a point of view and explaining the thinking behind it
- Collaboration — listening, responding and working effectively with others
Students are encouraged to take creative risks, try new things and become increasingly independent communicators.
Speak & Lead | Years 7–10
Communication with confidence and impact.
For older students, communication becomes increasingly purposeful. They learn how to shape ideas, influence an audience, think on their feet and communicate authentically in situations they encounter at school and beyond.
Students develop:
- Public Speaking — communicating ideas with clarity, structure and purpose
- Persuasive Communication — developing arguments and using language to influence and engage
- Impromptu Speaking & Quick Thinking — organising thoughts and responding effectively without preparation
- Presentation Skills — adapting voice, body language, content and delivery for different audiences
- Leadership Communication — speaking up, contributing ideas and communicating effectively within a group
- Audience Awareness — understanding how communication needs to change depending on who is listening
- Collaboration & Teamwork — listening, contributing, responding and helping a group move forward
- Authenticity & Impact — developing an individual communication style rather than simply learning to “perform” a speech
Students learn not just to speak up, but to communicate in a way that others want to listen to.
Ten Feet Tall Promise
What you can expect when your child learns with us.
More opportunities to participate, individual coaching and communication skills that grow with them.
Every Student Speaks
No sitting at the back and watching. Every student has opportunities to speak, participate, practise and perform in every class.
Every Student Is Coached
Every student receives individual feedback and practical guidance — so they know what they're doing well and what to work on next.
Small Groups. More Doing.
Smaller classes mean more opportunities to speak, perform, practise and receive attention from their coach.
Skills They Can Actually Use
Students develop voice, expression, public speaking, listening, collaboration and performance skills they can use at school and beyond.
Progress You Can See
Structured programmes build skills over time — from first steps in speaking and performing to sophisticated communication and performance.
We don't need every child to become a performer. We want every child to know they have something worth saying — and the skills and confidence to say it.
