Join our weekly acting class -Drama Club
Ten Feet Tall's 'Drama Club' is a great option for students who want to join an Auckland acting class in an engaging and supportive environment.
Developed and taught by Sabi Perez, who has a wealth of acting experience to offer her students. Drama Club is designed to grow a variety of important life skills our young leaders require. It is founded in providing students the time and space to become self-aware, develop confidence in their acting skills and efficacious as they work together to produce a piece of theatre they can feel proud of.
Group drama classes are especially important for students who want to experience the thrill of acting which essentially is a team sport. And so, Drama Club is focussed on achieving confidence for individuals by working together as a team. From this approach we see our students develop so many important life skills.
Therefore our approach, is to harness the interest of the group and use the skills of our teacher to collaberatively create a piece of theatre. Using improvisation and a range of acting skills, our students work towards an end of term performance. Students explore ideas experientially and out of this discovery comes rich learning.
And so, what we have found over time is that this acting class has many benefits. The process of devising and playing with ideas is more important sometimes than the performance outcome. Students develop self-awareness and confidence in a fun, supportive and engaging environment.
Each term students work towards a different performance depending on the skills we have been focussing on. Skills your child will develop in our group drama class:
